Overview

Lee's Hoagie House, located at 634 State Ave in Emmaus, PA, is a beloved local sandwich shop that delivers on the promise of authentic, hearty hoagies and cheesesteaks. In a region known for its rich sandwich culture, Lee’s stands out by focusing on quality ingredients and a well-balanced bite, making it a go-to spot for both casual lunches and quick dinners.

The heart of Lee's menu lies in its hoagies and cheesesteaks, with the Turkey Hoagie and Philly Cheese Steak topping the favorites list. What truly distinguishes Lee's is their bread—a fresh, chewy roll that holds just the right amount of resistance without overwhelming the fillings. This bread-to-meat ratio is crucial and well-executed, offering a satisfying texture that complements the carefully layered meats, cheeses, and fresh toppings.

The chicken steaks and wraps add variety without straying from the core appeal of fresh, balanced sandwiches. Their Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak, for example, highlights a thoughtful blend of heat and creamy provolone that isn’t overly spicy but just enough to excite the palate. Wraps like the Turkey and Buffalo Chicken Finger options cater to those seeking lighter, handheld alternatives without sacrificing flavor or substance.

From an atmosphere standpoint, Lee’s Hoagie House keeps things simple and straightforward—clean space, ample seating, and friendly service highlight their commitment to a hassle-free experience. While the ambiance might not be flashy or trendy, the focus remains squarely on the food. For diners who prioritize quality over ambiance, this casual setting offers a welcome relief where the sandwich truly does the talking.

Lee’s also caters well to groups and events, with cold hoagie trays providing a convenient option for gatherings. This makes it an attractive choice for office lunches or community events in the area.

The customer feedback reflects the shop’s strengths: the freshness of ingredients, the perfect chew of that signature bread, and the consistently satisfying sandwiches. Locals often mention the Italian hoagie’s subtle kick and the unique Jewish Hoagie as standout offerings that set Lee's apart from national chains and other local competitors alike.

The target audience is broad, from workers and students in the Allentown-Emmaus area seeking a quick and filling meal to hoagie connoisseurs looking for that authentic regional flavor. Lee’s Hoagie House does not try to reinvent the wheel but instead honors and elevates the classic hoagie concept with dependable execution and friendly service.

In sum, for anyone in the Emmaus or greater Allentown region craving a sandwich experience anchored by fresh ingredients, hearty bread, and honest flavors, Lee’s Hoagie House shines as a neighborhood staple worth visiting time and again.

When I'm in the Allentown area, I always try to stop at Lee's in Emmaus for a hoagie. The bread is so fresh, tasty, and perfectly chewy. The Italian hoagie is slightly spicy (with peppers) but not overpowering, just delicious and flavorful. The meat and cheese is fresh and the right amount. The smallest size hoagie is plenty of sandwich for a substantial lunch. The people who work there are friendly, and the place is clean with plenty of seating. Lee's is the best!

Great Steak Sub Hoagie! Absolutely love the hot pepper spread!!! Also nice to be able to get fresh and crispy fries with a sub or sandwich. Italian sun was also good! Freshest ranch dressing I’ve had in a while. Truly a great place for a quick dinner or sandwich pickup!

Classic Lee's Hoagie's. They are in a realm of their own from the Subway and Wawa's. Go support them so they stick around. Try the Jewish Hoagie (regardless of your faith or lack of), you will love it.

Great hoagies ,cheese steaks, even burgers and fries in the area. Its a very casual type of place compared to some of the newer places, but if you are looking for a great hoagie with fantastic bread and meats and toppings this is your place. Sandwiches are consistently good with fresh quality ingredients and toppings and meats. Much better than Jersey Mike's which I like on occasion. It all comes down to the bread which makes the sandwich. It is chewy on the outside and tender on the inside and the ratio of bread to meats and toppings is perfect. Most places have this doughy bread that doesn't hold up well and is more bread than meat. Lees hoagies is the way a hoagie should be. Perfectly balanced and delicious. It is the best in the area. They have a large seating area with booths and the service is friendly and helpful. It's a very casual place, but when you are craving a really good hoagie, it's the food that should do the talking not the surrounding. Prices are fair and portions are filling and most importantly fresh and delicious. This is so worth stopping in. Hours are mondays and Fridays until 7 pm other days until 4pm and closed on Sundays.Great hoagies, period!!

A decent cheesesteak in an area filled with really good ones. It was very quiet for a Friday night. Not the most welcoming environment but honestly just waited for takeout so not much to expect.

Great hoagie. Weird salad was made with ingredients cut on the slicer for their hoagies. Pickles are wonderful. It seemed expensive - $32 for one Cheltenham and one salad which was really just a plop if tuna salad with minimal salad components, 1 water & 1 soda.

Better than average hoagies and tasty cheese steaks. A great hoagie starts off with a flawless roll and Lee's has a solid roll. They pile on the meat and soak it with oil & vinegar. They mix sauce in with the chipped steak while it's on the grill, which is my favorite. It bums me out that they turn off their grill and don't answer the phone after 8:30pm, though. Good thing The Brass Rail is a mile down the road...
